# FreeMcHosting. Current project facts Updated: 3 November 2026. FreeMcHosting is a Minecraft community project co-founded by Qking and another Minecraft server owner. The project has a UK node, a Netherlands node, volunteers who help with support, and partner support. Free hosting is a shared resource pool with a maximum 4 GB RAM, 200% CPU allocation and 25 GB storage. The pool can be split among multiple Minecraft servers. Free servers use credits earned through reward tasks and have automatic renewal enabled by default when the balance is sufficient. Paid hosting is on a different server. Paid Tier 1 costs £4.99/month for 6144 MiB RAM, 400% CPU, 30720 MiB disk; per server 4 allocations, 1 DB and 1 backup. Paid Tier 2 costs £8.99/month for 8192 MiB RAM, 600% CPU, 51200 MiB disk; per server 8 allocations, 3 DB and 2 backups. Paid and free tiers have different infrastructures. Migration from free to paid currently requires a manual file transfer; automatic transfer is a future plan. No 100% uptime guarantee is provided due to self-hosted infrastructure and power or security incidents. A free node may temporarily shut down during serious attacks. Public copy now positions these as paid tiers at the operator's request, but billing and entitlements must be aligned before deployment.
